Dinesh Raut (born 17 March 1982) is an Nepali Film Director, Theater Artist, Lyricist, Dancer. He is best known for directing several successful films. Raut is the recipient of several awards, including  National Film Awards and many other awards.

EARLY LIFE


Dinesh Raut was born and brought up in Dahachowk-6, Kathmandu to a Hindu family. He studied in Janamatri College (JMC) till Class XII. He then joined SB Group for acting and dance classes.

 

CAREER


Raut started his career at the age of 14 as a Theater Artist. Then he worked as an assistant director from 'Mero Euta Sathi Chha' before moving into directing. He made his directorial debut with 'I am Sorry'. His most notable successful film is 'November Rain', starring Aaryan Sigdel and Namrata Shrestha; received Best Director award Box Office movies award and CG DCine award 2015. Raut’s 'Classic' became a massive success at the box office and won the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) Film Director Award. Also received the Jury award at International Nepalese Artist Society (INAS) Award, 2016. Raut’s another big success in thriller film, 'Parva', Follow-up 'Prasad', received the Kamana film award for best director and was nominated for the SAARC film festival. 'Prakash' is his most awaited social drama film, which is on post-production releasing soon.

 

PERSONAL LIFE


Dinesh Raut’s father is a retired officer and mother is a housewife. He has two brothers and a sister. Raut is married to Rashmi Raut (Timalsina).
