Jogendra K.C., born on January 3, 1977, is a distinguished dancer and choreographer. He is a permanent resident of Pyuthan Municipality-09, Pyuthan district. He completed his School Leaving Certificate (SLC) from Janata Ma.Vi, Pyuthan, and pursued higher education at Ratna Rajya College, located at Exhibition Road, Putalisadak, Kathmandu.

CAREER BEGINNINGS


Raised in a typical middle-class environment, Jogendra's father aspired for him to become a doctor. However, Jogendra chose to follow his passion for dance. His pivotal moment came during local shows in his hometown, where he dreamt of becoming a famous artist. In 1990, after completing his SLC, Jogendra moved to Kathmandu to pursue his dream, facing numerous challenges and hardships along the way.


BREAKTHROUGH AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT


In 1996, Jogendra participated in a nationwide folk dance competition organized by Shadhana Kala Kendra during King Birendra's throne ascended ceremony. His performance, which he choreographed and danced, won first place and marked his breakthrough in the dance industry. Since then, Jogendra has spent over 30 years performing in stage programs, choreographing videos, beauty pageants and national and international folk festivals.

He has traveled to numerous countries, including Japan, Qatar, UAE, Thailand, India, Belgium, Luxembourg, Portugal, Greece, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Estonia, Turkey, Germany, Poland and Spain, to promote Nepalese culture through dance.


CONTRIBUTIONS TO CULTURE AND RECOGNITION


Jogendra has been an advocate for preserving and promoting Nepal's rich and diverse culture, reflected in its music, dance, art, literature, folklore, and language. He has shared his views on cultural preservation in various interviews with national and international media. His efforts have earned him several national and international awards, including:
