Raj Kumar Rai is a renowned filmmaker, movie director, and producer. He was born on March 13, 1985, in Ilam, Nepal, and is currently a permanent resident of Tarkeshwor Municipality-2, Kathmandu, Nepal.

He started his career in the Nepali film industry as an artist in 2008, debuting in the feature film Kaha Hunchha Maya. Over time, he progressed to the role of Assistant Director. In 2024, he became a full-fledged Film Director.

He has directed and produced several notable Nepali feature films, including 'Gundagardi', 'Hangma', and 'Aashirbad'. Before stepping into directing, he worked as a Chief Assistant Director on multiple Nepali films such as 'Aakashe Kheti', 'Amar Priti', 'Murchunga', 'Mission Carreng Gang', and others.

Besides directing, Raj Kumar Rai is also an established actor. He has appeared in feature films like 'Agni', 'Refugee', and 'Parinam', as well as short films such as 'Dukha', 'Subba Daju 2', 'Yathartha', 'Subba Daju 3', and 'Santanko Lagi'. He has also acted in a few music videos, showcasing his versatility in the entertainment industry.

Rai is actively involved in various film-related organizations. He is the Chairperson of Riyashna Film Pvt. Ltd. and a member of the Film Director's Guild of Nepal (FDGN) and the Nepal Film Producer's Association (NFPA).

Apart from his contributions to the film industry, Rai has been serving in the Nepal Police since 2004. He currently holds the position of Head Constable.

With a career spanning over a decade, Rai has significantly contributed to the Nepali film industry both on the silver screen and behind the camera. His journey from an artist to director and producer is a testament to his dedication and passion for filmmaking.
