Yogendra Upadhyay was born on December 21, 1981, in Jhapa, Nepal. From a young age, he showed a keen interest in music and started learning different musical instruments. He would often participate in cultural programs and events, where he would showcase his musical talent and captivate the audience with his soulful renditions.

Yogendra's passion for music grew stronger as he grew older, and he decided to pursue it as a career. He started learning music formally and honed his skills under the guidance of experienced musicians.

Yogendra Upadhyay has composed more than 100 songs in various genres, including Morden, Pop, Lok Pop, Gajal, Lok, Cultural, and others. Yogendra's hard work and dedication paid off, and he soon established himself as a talented music composer. His music compositions became popular among Nepali music lovers, and he gained a significant following. He became known for his unique ability to blend traditional and modern music styles. Some of his hit songs include 'Ghirling', 'Yo Taapma', 'Mero Geetma', 'Andhakar', 'Aafno Aanshu', 'Kanchhi Mori' etc.

Yogendra Upadhyay has won first position in Modern Song Competition 2071, Nationwide Bhakti Music Competition 2068, and Shambhu Prasad Memorable Bhakti Music Competition 2067. He also received Best Music Composer award in Genius Music Award 2076 for the song 'Joon Hau Timi' and Quality Music Award 2079 for song 'Yo Tapma'.

Yogendra Upadhyay has also taken on various leadership roles in the Nepali music industry. He served as General Secretary of the National Folk Cultural Association.

He was a jury member or pre-judge in various music competitions and singing reality shows. He was a jury member for Sagarmatha Music Award 2079 and was a pre-judge for Nepal Idol Season 2, a popular singing reality show in Nepal. In addition, Yogendra Upadhyay has also served as an advisor to Team Pramod for Voice of Nepal Season 4, a popular music reality show.

He is also music teacher at various schools in Kathmandu, including Kathmandu Vidhya Kunja Secondary School, Relience International Academy, Whiz Kid International School, and Xavier Academy etc.

Upadhyay is a certified `A´ grade music composer/singer from Radio Nepal.
